What to do if you are injured

- Report your injury to your supervisor
- Request immediate medical attention
- Call your Local Chairman and The Youngdahl Law Firm for assistance completing the Accident Report and dealing with railroad officials
- Complete a written Accident Report
- Do not give a recorded statement
- Do not sign a Medical Authorization for release of records
Cardinal Rules For the Injured Railroad Worker
- Do not let the railroad pressure you into reporting facts that are not accurate or true
- Do not blame yourself where you are not to blame
- Be as specific as possible in identifying the unsafe condition(s) that caused the accident
- Name witnesses where possible
- List all affected body parts
- Accurately describe how the accident occurred
- Less is more
- Beware: Some questions are trick questions
